This Is Why Your CBD Isn’t Working

This Is Why Your CBD Isn’t Working

You just bought your first bottle of CBD Oil and excitedly opened it up to take your first serving. You hold one full dropper under the tongue for a minute and feel… nothing. You try again tomorrow and again, nothing! Is CBD a scam? Before dismissing CBD altogether, keep reading for the #1 reason your CBD isn’t working.

Have you used CBD long enough?

CBD must be used consistently to see the full benefits. Think of CBD as a supplement that increases your wellness over time, unlike a pain killer or anti-anxiety pill you take and feel immediate effects. Most people don’t get an “It’s kicking in” type of feeling. Most experience a gradual lessening of their pain and stress levels and an improvement in sleep quality over time. It can take up to a month for the CBD to build up in your system before you see the results you’re looking for. If you are not getting the results you are looking for after one month of consistent use, this is a good indicator that you should try a higher-strength product, take a larger serving size, or incorporate another delivery method.

Are you using a quality product?

Choosing a quality CBD product is paramount. The hemp that the CBD is extracted from should be of the highest quality. Low-quality hemp may be treated with toxic chemicals and pesticides that can appear in the finished products. How CBD is extracted from the hemp plant will also have a massive impact on the quality of the final product. When CBD is extracted with solvents such as butane, chemical reactions alter the genetic profile of the compounds. This drastically reduces the overall quality of the product.

A CBD company should also be able to provide third-party test results to verify their products contain the amounts of CBD and THC claimed. Many CBD companies have been discovered to label their products falsely. According to University of Pennsylvania research, “nearly 70 percent of all cannabidiol products sold online are either over or under-labeled.” Reviewing the test results can verify whether the product contains the amount of CBD and THC advertised. The test results should come from an accredited lab and be recent! Look for the date on the test results and a batch ID to ensure that you are being provided with test results for your product. Not an old batch.

At Pure Spectrum, we’ve got you covered. Our products are created from USDA-certified organic hemp grown here in the USA. We extract our CBD with ethanol to ensure we are providing our customers with cannabinoids of the highest quality. Our raw materials and finished products are tested multiple times at every stage of the process. Our test results for each batch are always posted on our website so you can ensure the purity and potency of the products you are taking.

Why do I have to take CBD Consistently?

You may be wondering why it can take CBD up to a month to work for you. This is because of the way CBD interacts with our Endocannabinoid System. The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) is a communication network that transmits information to and from all systems throughout the body. The ECS works to maintain homeostasis- the body’s optimal state. The ECS is essentially the motherboard of all the systems in your body and works to create balance and harmony. CBD interacts directly with the ECS by boosting the levels of our naturally occurring endocannabinoids.

When the ECS is out of balance, any system within the body can become compromised. Disruption may be caused by various things including diet, lifestyle, genetics, trauma, injury, toxins, and even daily stress. When someone starts taking CBD for the first time, depending on the severity of the imbalances they are experiencing, it can take a little while for their ECS to recalibrate.

How can I get more immediate relief?

We always recommend taking one of our longer-lasting products (CBD oil, gummies, or softgels) to keep the CBD built up in your system and provide daily support to your ECS. However, we have some products you can use in addition to your daily CBD product to help you achieve faster results.

A favorite method here at Pure Spectrum is to use CBD isolate in conjunction with your tincture. Put a scoop of CBD isolate under your tongue, then add a serving of CBD oil. Hold both the oil and the isolate under your tongue for at least 60 seconds before swallowing. This allows you to experience the fast-acting effects of isolate with the longer-lasting benefits of our CBD oils. Keep in mind you shouldn’t expect to feel immediate results if you haven’t given your ECS time to come back into balance.

Topicals are another excellent choice for fast-acting pain relief. The skin contains a vast amount of cannabinoid receptors. CBD absorbs directly into the skin when applied topically, providing powerful localized relief. Topicals are great to use on an as-needed basis.
